Avalon 1166 – the best-selling Canaan miner of 2020
The Avalon 1166 ASIC miner model was released in the summer of 2020. The company Canaan, the second largest manufacturer of Bitcoin mining equipment, could not catch up with the flagships of Bitmain in hashrate and energy efficiency, but “took the price”.
The Avalon 1166 was the best in terms of return on investment, which made this model the best-selling in the Canaan product line until there was a shortage of these products. In 2021, the consumer excitement was reduced by the fall of the cryptocurrency market and the increase in the supply of used miners.
Large farms were closed in China, some of the business owners decided not to continue mining BTC elsewhere. The move is a forced measure due to the ban by the Chinese government, which opens up the possibility of purchasing Avalon 1166 at interesting prices.
