The "asic" released by MicroBT Whatsminer M31S became a budget version of the most productive model M30S for cryptocurrency mining using SHA-256 algorithm. ASIC-miner appeared in July 2020, having "on board" an 8nm processor from Samsung. The growth of hash rate was provided by a set of software and technical solutions.
Otherwise, the equipment retained the form-factor and air cooling scheme. Traditionally, MicroBT released two models in the series, with excellent hashrate and price.
