Antminer S9

Model S9 the most popular brand of "ashik Antminer, defined the main features of miners not only the manufacturer Bitmain, but also competitors. Beginning with the 9-series on a 16nm chip, its number has only changed in the larger side with the release of a new, more modern chip.

Wide range of hash rates is due to different years of hardware production. The first models of Antminer S9 heated up to 90 C because of its high computing power, which forced Bitmain to limit the ASIC-miner parameters by means of software.

Antminer S9SE.

At the end of June 2019, Bitmain released a special build of the Antminer S9, which received the index SE (Special Edition). ASIC miner was assembled on the same 16 nm chips as the whole Antminer 9 series, but it showed higher hash rate and energy efficiency.

The special offer included a relatively low price for the hardware at that time, which led to the sale of the first batch in a few hours. In fact, even then Bitmain began to develop a relationship with miners, when the prepayment was ahead of the fact of delivery by several months.

Antminer S9K

The "K" model in the Antminer 9 series appeared as Bitmain's experiment in the use of FinFET chips from Taiwanese manufacturer TSMC in mining.  The 16nm chip uses high-density transistors that increase SHA-256 algorithm computation speeds while consuming less power.

Antminer S9duo

Model Antminer S9duo appeared as a result of a private upgrade of basic ASIC-mainers Bitmain. Independent developers realized the launch of Antminer S9 with a single control board and a single power supply. The modification successfully works in "dual" mode, giving double hash rate with optimal energy efficiency.
