Antminer L3+/L3++ – the most popular ASIC for the Scrypt algorithm
The first Bitmain ASIC miner for LTC mining was released at the end of January 2017. Just three months later, a new version of Antminer L3 with the prefix “+” was released. At the end of the first half of 2018, when most digital currencies lost a significant part of their value, the L3++ model was released.
Despite the plus consoles, all ASIC miners are assembled on the same BM1485 chip, which does not prevent the L3+ model from remaining the most efficient Litecoin miner (and especially Dogecoin) in 2021.
Released by competitors from Innosilicon, the flagship Scrypt model A4+ was able to show a greater hashrate by 20%, but surpassed L3+ by 4 times in cost. This is quite a significant reason to think about the acquisition of Antminer from Bitmain, which allows you to make a profit in a short period of mining DOGE or several cryptocurrencies at the same time, instead of a long time working out the cost of equipment.
Antminer L3++ surpasses its competitor in hashrate, but consumes more power, which reduces the performance advantages for countries with a relatively high cost of kW.
The main advantages of Antminer L3+ / ++
The manufacturer Bitmain has created a positive reputation for the Antminer brand and has established a wide service network. A miner can easily buy the L3+/++ model, saving a lot of money, given the cost of new Scrypt models.
Disadvantages of Antminer L3+ / ++
High noise will require the installation in production-type premises. The power consumption in relation to the hashrate makes the ASIC miner sensitive to the cost of kW.
In general, the model is still quite effective and has no serious competitors in the market, which guarantees slow growth of the hashrate and relatively stable in the coming years until the new Litecoin halving.
